About Jeremy & Tara

For 25 years, Jeremy has been working with underground municipal utilities in and around the Des Moines area. After getting his start in the construction business as an operator/laborer with Horsfield Construction in Epworth, Iowa, he went on to work for Dave Schmidt Construction in Cedar Falls while attending Upper Iowa University. In 1995, Jeremy worked for ACI Mechanical in Ames as a plumber and foreman. After attending Iowa State University, Jeremy worked for KRI Company in 1998, where he trained in project management and acted as company superintendent. In 2007, he proudly established J & K Contracting.

Jeremy and his lovely wife, Tara, are united as owners in maintaining the family culture at J&K. They both are involved deeply in all aspects of the organization. They both believe in the core values that are a big part of the entire J&K Team, and promote these values throughout the organization. Family is where it all starts and with their five children there is no time to miss out on family functions. Together they travel from one meeting to another and follow it up with chasing a daughter to a dance competition or softball game and then hit their sons baseball game. They are the parents who not only do what it takes to “Be There” for their own children, but also for the “J&K Family”. Jeremy and Tara always strive for the “Greater Good of the Company” along with their “Family” they are one in the same for the Feldmann’s.

Jeremy and Tara are active NUCA members where Jeremy is an active board member and past President of NUCA. They have been active members and have held these positions for the past 13 years. Jeremy and Tara are also active in the Construction Financial Management Association and National Federation of Independent Business Owners. The owners here at J&K believe in the education and promote the water sewer industry with safety of its team first.

About Mac

Mac started with J&K in March of 2019. Mac was hired to help mentor young project managers and estimators, he also helps in supervising the project bidding. Mac earned his BS from Iowa State University he grew up on a farm east of Monroe, Iowa and is currently living in Granger Iowa with his beautiful wife Theresa of 35 years and their dog Teddy a Golden Doodle. Mac enjoys spending the summers at his lake house ,going boating and playing golf. Mac is a huge fan of Iowa State sports and attends both football and basketball games. Mac is an inspiration to the growth and knowledge of J&K Contracting and enjoys the team culture in training the future of the water/sewer industry.

About Cliffy

Cliffy has been with J & K Contracting since 2007 and has worn many hats in his life, so far. After graduating from Boone High School, he attended DMACC to become a police officer. He’s been a truck driver and a welder, was a foreman for 15 years and a pipelayer for 20, and he’s well-versed in horizontal boring/directional drilling. He’s a certified licensed flagger for traffic control and a licensed Master Plumber.

A lifetime Boone resident, Cliffy claims if it were possible to bleed black and gold, he would. He lives for Hawkeye football season and believes Iowa has beaten Iowa State each year of his life (you may direct all arguments to his email). Cliffy has spent his entire career in the water sewer industry one way or another. His favorite ideal is “Family” and he shares this with his work. Cliffy humbling attitude is always looking out for the teammates at J&K. Cliffy believes all for one and one for all for a value and is proud to have a place where each person matters.

About Casey

Casey began his career in the industry in 1995, joining J&K in 2012 he started off as a foreman then became General Superintendent in August of 2019. Casey was born and raised in Waukee Iowa. Currently Casey is living in Adel Iowa with his beautiful wife Kat and their 3 daughters. Casey has many hobbies which include beaches, boats and beers. He also enjoys camping, golfing, skiing, 4 wheeling and just all kinds of cool guy stuff. Casey enjoys all kinds of music but country is his favorite, he loves going to concerts and enjoys supporting local bands. Family is first and foremost important to Casey, traveling with them to create memories, always supporting them and loving them. Casey plays a large role in the leadership here at J&K Contracting and is firmly believes in the family culture that is established here.

About Jared

Jared joined the J&K team back in February of 2017 as an intern, and upon graduating took on the role as a Project Manager/Estimator. Jared graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Construction Engineering, he grew up in Hawkeye which is a town of about 400 people in northeast Iowa. He is currently living in downtown Des Moines. In Jared’s spare time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing cards, throwing bags (cornhole), tailgating, etc. Jared is a huge fan of the Iowa State Cyclones. Jared is fascinated with seeing projects being estimated throughout the build process. Jared enjoys the Family orientated culture that is evident throughout the organization.

About Nate

Nate joined the J&K team in May of 2019 a week after graduating from Construction and Civil Engineering Technology at Hawkeye College in Waterloo, Iowa. Nate was born in Greenfield Iowa but grew up in Grimes Iowa where he went to High School. He currently is living in Waukee Iowa. Nate is a fantasy football guru and when it's warm he is either on the lake or you can find him playing disc golf. Nate loves football and he is 90% sure that he is the only LA Chargers fan in the state of Iowa. Nate enjoys the team and unity culture here at J&K Contracting and is eager to learn the workings of the sewer industry.

About Jackie

Jackie grew up in south central Iowa most of her childhood prior to moving to Dallas, Texas in 2005 where she graduated from Plano West Senior High in 2007. Jackie missed the small town country living so much, and decided to move back home to Iowa in 2014. Jackie currently lives in Truro, IA where she loves getting to spend quality time with her family and friends. Jackie worked in corporate customer service her entire working career when she decided it was time to venture out into a new role with a business that has a family orientated culture which lead her to J&K Contracting as the office assistant in 2020. Jackie is very excited to be part of a team atmosphere where people in the organization matter! When it comes to sports, and Jackie really only pays attention to football and it’s black and gold all the way. GO HAWKS!

About Jayton

Jayton joined J & K Contracting in January of 2022, after graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Accounting and Finance. Jayton grew up on his family farm in Moingona and went to Boone High School. Currently he lives in Ames with his dog Max, an English Golden Retriever. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and being outdoors. He believes 100.3 The Bus is the greatest radio station ever created and is a lifelong fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Also, he is one of the 17 fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins in the Midwest. Jayton has worked with his dad as a plumber between semesters of school and happy to be working in the underground utilities industry for a company with a family-oriented culture.
